6-10 Schuyler Rimmer of Orlando, who is transferring from Stanford, said Wednesday he hopes to have his decision on a new school sometime after December 28th or 29th. Rimmer is deciding between USC, Boston University and Davidson.
“I've definitely got to sit down and think about it a lot,” Rimmer said. “I feel comfortable with all my options right now. I've just got to sit down and think about which one is going to be the best for me.”
Rimmer made his official visit to USC last week and was on hand when the Gamecocks played Clemson.“I think it went well,” he said. “We saw everything we needed to see. I’m glad I got to see the game because I wanted to familiarize myself with their system and style of play as well. I got to speak with the players a little bit. I think it went well. I think the biggest thing for me is where I see myself on the team. It’s ultimately going to be a basketball decision.”
Rimmer said all three of his finalists are recruiting with the same level of interest.
“That’s why they are recruiting me, they all need someone at my position, with my ability,” Rimmer said. “That’s why I’m considering them and that’s why they are recruiting me. I’d say it’s pretty much dead even as far as them wanting me.”
Rimmer will enroll at his new school in January and will become eligible at the end of the first semester of 2015. That will leave him 2.5 seasons of eligibility.”
