Class of 2017 defensive end M.J. Webb of Madison, Ga., is going back on the road to check out some of his favorite schools.

His tour starts Saturday with a visit to Kentucky. On July 21 he is going to Tennessee. He is returning to South Carolina on July 23 for the third time since the middle of May. Webb said Will Muschamp, Lance Thompson and the Gamecocks continue to have a strong recruiting presence with him.

“I talk to Coach Muschamp every day,” he said. “We always text and tell each other good morning. And Coach Thompson. I hear from them every day, which is why I’m all about them.”

USC will host a prospect cookout July 23. Despite the everyday contact, Webb said he’s not feeling any extra pressure from Muschamp and Thompson to jump in the boat.

“They are not really taking that approach,” he said. “They are always going to be there for me. Whenever I want to commit, they’re there. They’re just letting me take my time with it.”

Webb said at this point he’s focused on USC, Tennessee, Auburn, Kentucky and Florida, and he’s looking at November for making his decision. He does not have a favorite. He has scheduled an official visit with USC for the Georgia weekend, and he will also take one to Tennessee.

Like so many prospects looking at SEC teams, Webb was tuned in to SEC Media Days during the week checking out the coaches he’s been dealing with, including Muschamp.

“You can just look at him and tell he’s a go-get-it guy,” Webb said. “I think he’s going to get the job done over at South Carolina. I’m pretty excited about the season for him.”
