Kentucky received an assist from South Carolina on Friday.
With the Wildcats’ pep band unable to make the trip due to weather, the Gamecocks’ band filled in.
The SEC didn’t want Kentucky to feel unsupported, so it asked Ole Miss to step in Thursday. Coach Matthew Mitchell, a Mississippi State alumnus, said it might be the only time he’s ever complimented Ole Miss.
The Wildcats were left searching for another fill-in band for Friday night’s quarterfinal against Mississippi State, though, as the Rebels were eliminated on Thursday and went home on Friday.
In stepped the Gamecocks.

Last night it was the Ole Miss band, tonight it's South Carolina's who will play for UK Hoops: pic.twitter.com/F8xnzSqvlL— Kyle Scott (@Ky1eSc0tt) March 7, 2015
It's cool seeing South Carolina sub for the UK band, but we better not hear one note of Sandstorm— Steve Moss (@smosswkyt) March 7, 2015
