No. 2 Dreher fell to top-ranked Orangeburg-Wilkinson in a possible preview of the Class 3A state championship game on Saturday in Myrtle Beach.
Teresa Jones’ Blue Devils led 25-20 at halftime, but the No. 1 Bruins took the lead for good (39-38) on a score by Zaria Snipes with 5:49 t0 go on the way to a 50-45 win in the third-place game at the CresCom Bank Holiday Invitational.
Snipes was one of three double-digit producers for O-W with 12 points. Dejoria Howard led the Bruins (8-1) with 16 points and Sade Johnson matched Snipes’ scoring total.
Makayla Johnson (13 points, 12 rebounds, 7 blocks), Kaydra Duckett (15 points) and Jhileiya Dunlap (15 points, 7 rebounds, 4 blocks) led Dreher. The Blue Devils (7-2) finished with a 2-2 tournament report card.
