Hammond School basketball star Daniel Bailey has found a college home to continue his career.
Bailey signed with Queens College and will begin his career at the Charlotte-based Division II school next season, the school announced on Thursday.
A two-time SCISA all-state selection, the 6-4 Bailey averaged 22.3 points and 7.2 rebounds as a senior last season. He led the Skyhawks to the SCISA state final as a junior in 2006-07.
Bailey is part of a five-player recruiting class for Queens, which also signed 6-3 small forward Chris Burgess from Boiling Springs High in Spartanburg County.

``This group’s overall athleticism is as good as any I’ve seen, and there are some collective traits that will help us be successful,’’ Queens College coach Brian Good said. ``These guys are long, bouncy athletes – and there’s a good bit of toughness in these kids. It should be fun to watch their contributions.”
