With a veteran team in place, Airport is looking for good things to happen in the 2008 volleyball season. The Eagles made the Class 3A state playoff cut a year ago, but was bounced out in the first round by Hilton Head.
Six players return from last season’s nine-player regular rotation.
“We have most of our experienced players back which will be one of our strengths,” said coach Jessica Kerbs. “We are also a very smart team and as long as we decide to play as one team and not a bunch of individuals we will be tough competition. We also have to become more consistent than we were last season. If we don’t, we’ll struggle.”
The seasons hands back for another go include senior outside hitter Kirsten Spradley, senior defensive specialist Jordon Turner, senior defensive specialist Emily Sox, senior middle hitter Kristin Moore, junior setter Whitney Brown and junior middle hitter Taniqua Canzater.
