Pelion enters the 2008 volleyball season with a number of unanswered questions. The Panthers return a solid front line off a team that finished 9-9 and made the Class 2A state playoff cut. But there is little experience elsewhere and the team is moving into a new, tougher region.
“The big thing for us is we have no experienced depth right now,” said Wahl.
In all, three starters and four letter winners are back. At the top of the list is the senior trio of setter Katherine Mijares and middle hitters Adrian Blanton and Megan Boren. Junior outside hitter Cheyenne Crim hopes to step up and make a contribution, as well. Otherwise, things are far from set.
Pelion will get a preview of the new competition on tap this season at the Region 5-AA jamboree on Aug. 25 at Edisto.
