With four motivated seniors returning, A.C. Flora enters the 2008 cross country season with a shot at returning to the Class 3A boys state meet for the first time since 2005. The Falcons girls will be trying to get back to state after failing to make the grade last season for the first time in more than 10 years.
The veteran leaders on the boys team are seniors Morgan Mitchell, Austin Layden, Drew Munnerlyn and Davis Roth. Seniors Julia Theus, Katherine Tribble and Sarah Hamblin and Lee Blackmon are the top returning runners on the girls side.
“Our seniors bring several years of experience, and they are stronger and motivated this year,” said Falcons coach Janice Addison. “We have a small number of girls, so we don’t have a lot of depth behind our starters.”
