New quarterback Antonio Marshall connected on just two of 11 passes for 18 yards and tossed two interceptions, but he ran for 53 yards and scored by Columbia touchdowns … Sdenior offensive lineman Jamie Glover graded out at 91% had was credited with five knockdown blocks … Lorenzo Boyles had the defensive hit parade with 12 tackles, followed by Mychal Brown (10) and Damario Jeffery (9). Mike Tillman had one interception. Boyles had one caused fumble and blocked one pass. Brown’s haul included three tackles for loss.
A.C. Flora notes: The Falcons' first-ever Week 0 game was not a memorable experience. Flora fell to Class 2A powerhouse Dillon 28-6 … The Falcons defense yielded 233 rushing yards and host Wildcats picked off four ACF passes.
Series history: The Capitals have owned the Falcons for a long time, winning 13 of 14 since 1990. Columbia enjoys an overalls series lead of 16-8 since 1976. The Falcons won seven straight at one point (1981-87) but haven’t mastered the Caps since 2000.
