Hammond’s girls tennis team is in rebuilding mode after graduation claimed five starters off a team that went 12-2, finished second in region play and advanced to the SCISA playoff semifinals in 2007. Replacing ace Alexis Prickett at the top of the lineup is just one of the many challenges facing coach Carol Fowles and the Skyhawks this fall.
The good news is seniors Beth Cotter and Madison Kocher are back to form the veteran foundation of the new-look team.
The other players in the mix include senior Rosanne Sullivan and juniors Lilie Jane Hudson, Alexandra Little, Brooks Burnside and Layne Browder Plyler.
