Blythewood notes: The Bengals saw their 24-game winning streak come to an end last week in a 40-21 loss to Fairfield Central. This week, Blythewood is looking to avoid the first case of back-to-back defeats in school history … Torrence Daniel hit 12 of 29 passes for 182 yards in his first game as the starting quarterback. C.J. Edwards led the Bengals in rushing with 62 yards on 16 carries and also caught four passes for 39 yards. He had two scoring runs … Anthony Tyler had a big game on defense with 14 tackles, one sack and one fumble recovery … Blythewood finished with 303 total offensive yards, while the defense yielded 342 yards.
Crestwood notes: The Knight spotted potent Sumter a 14-0 lead in last week’s season opener, rallied to pull within 27-26 in the second half only to fade late and finish on the down side of a 48-32 decision … The Wilson brothers did most of the offensive damage for Crestwood. Terrence Wilson ran for 122 yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries and Treginald Wilson added 119 yards rushing and one TD on nine totes, but the veteran quarterback completed just one of nine passes … Middle linebacker Marquise Parker had 15 tackles, including four TFL, but no one was happy with the defensive performance. Sumter finished with 427 yards, and the 48 points was the most surrendered by a Crestwood defense in 10 years.
Series history: The game marks the first meeting of the Bengals and the Knights.
