Football: A.C. Flora vs. Eau Claire

Site: Lower Richland. Time: Thursday, 7:30 p.m.

A.C. Flora notes: The Falcons have scored just one touchdown in two games to date, but did not find the end zone in a 22-3 loss to Columbia last week. The points came on a 53-yard field goal by Grant Clayton … Flora is averaging a paltry 152 yards of offense so far … Jordan Thomas has thrown the ball well with 19 completions in 38 attempts for 162 yards and one TD … The defense has played well, allowing the opposition an average of 191.5 yard to date … Lamonte Todd tops the ACF tackle list with 32 stops, followed by Conor Hozey with 31 tackles. Darius Hammonds had four sacks.

Eau Claire notes: Xavier Murray, who became the Shamrocks’ first 1,000-yard season rusher since 1972 a year ago, picked up where he left off in a 45-6 season-opening win vs. C.A. Johnson last week. Murray ran for 153 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries, and hauled in a 79-yard scoring pass from Ronald Weeks. Week made his debut at quarterback and rang for 203 yards passing and threw three scoring passes.

Series history: Flora has won seven in a row to take a 15-7 lead in the series. EC’s triumph was a 28-12 decision in 2000. The game, originally scheduled for Friday, will take place at Lower Richland’s Diamond Mine.
