Ridge View’s boys and Blythewood’s girls were the winners at the first Region 4-4A regular season cross country meet of the season hosted Tuesday by South Pointe in Rock Hill.
Ridge View scored 28 points to win the boys race over South Point (46) and Blythewood (49). Blazer star David Jennings was the individual winner with a time of 17 minutes, 3 seconds. Blythewood’s Andrew Gordon was second at 18:29.
Joe Keitt (18:50), Ty’re Ware (19:10), Joseph Stogner (19:23) and Bill Waldrop (20:02) were the other scoring runners for Ridge View.
Blythewood’s girls took first place with 35 points followed by South Point (46) and Ridge View (48).

Blazer senior Sierra Henderson was the individual winner. Blythewood sophomore Caroline Matthews led the Blythewood pack with a third-place finish and a time of 26:15.
Tamara Smith (26:14), Ashley Kehn (28:53), Adelin Kucherina (28:54) and Emily Hart (29:32) rounded out Ridge View’s scoring lineup.
