The Lexington volleyball team rebounded from a tough season-opening week to scored easy Region 5-4A wins over Richland Northeast and Orangeburg-Wilkinson, and are looking forward to Tuesday’s key region match at home against county rival Irmo.
The Wildcats serving game was sharp in a 3-0 vs. RNE on Sept. 10. Aubrey Dooley set the first game with a string of 12 straight service points, featuring three aces. Kellie Schmidt closed out the match with a run serving points, including three aces. Schmidt didn’t miss a serve all night and led the team with eight kills. Setter Laura Grace Swindler had 16 assists. Dooley finished with nine assists, one kill and two digs.
Coach Chee Lee employed many young reserves in the match vs. O-W, including sophomore setter Kinsley Wade who eight assists and four digs in the third and final game of the match.
