Football: Swansea at Scott's Branch

Swansea notes: The Tigers losing streak increased to seven games with last week’s 42-14 loss to Batesburg-Leesville. Swansea has not won more than two games in a row since going on a four-game roll in 2005. Since then, the Tigers have won jjust six of 25 outing.

Scott’s Branch notes: Don’t be fooled by the Eagles’ 1-2 record. With 16 starters back from a breakout 10-2 team, coach Leonard Johnson decided to upgrade the non-region schedule for his rising Class 1A program. The two early setbacks have come against Class 3A powers Marlboro County (45-26) and Timberland (44-0) … The Branch boasts a veteran offensive line that averages 292 pounds per man, and takes a simple offense approach. The Eagles run, run and run some more. SB is averaging 364.7 yards per game and 6.15 yards per carry this season … Quinten Singleton has 510 yards and four touchdowns, Kadeem Baxter has 243 yards and three touchdowns and Adrian Coard has 232 yards on the books.
