Ridge View notes: The Blazers (2-1) spotted Dutch Fork a 7-0 lead, but had things under control the rest of the way en route to a 22-7 win … The offense rolled up 406 yards with quarterback Jalen Perry in the forefront. Perry completed 12 of 29 passes for 227 yards and three two touchdowns. Greg Adams, Bucky Kennedy and Naquan Fleming were on the receiving end of the scoring tosses. Perry also led the 203-yard ground assault with 87 yards on nine carries … The defense was even better, limiting the Silver Foxes to 166 yards for the game – 80 of which came on DF’s first possession. Safety David Davis led the team with eight tackles, but he had plenty of help. Cornerback Brock Dempsey had two interceptions, linebacker Keandre Peavey had seven tackles, two tackles for loss and was credited with half a sack. End Isaac Heyward had six tackles and 2.5 sacks.
RNE notes: The Cavaliers (1-2) are in a funk that began two weeks ago when Hartsville rallied in the fourth quarter to steal a 35-34 win. Last week, RNE dropped a 12-7 decision to Blythewood … The only Cavs tally came on a 41-yard punt return by Kenny Upshaw in the fourth quarter. Upshaw’s dash and Daniel Passament’s PAT staked RNE to a 7-6 lead with 9:16 remaining in the game. Bu the inspired Bengals responded with a seven-play, 57-yard scoring march … G.G. Greene’s 111 yards rushing was the only offensive highlight for RNE. The Cavaliers finished with just 32 yards passing, 173 overall.
