Dreher’s boys and girls teams made the Top 10 cut at the Lake Murray Invitational cross country meet Saturday at Crooked Creek Park in Chapin.
Allyson Hill had the top Blue Devils individual performance with a third-place finish behind Irmo’s Raheema Hodhes and Dutch Fork’s Samantha Hughes with a time of 19 minutes, 45.95 seconds, but the Dreher boys were just a bit better in team matters.
The Blue Devils placed eighth with Collin Glass (28th, 18:15.76) in the forefront. Tanner Dalton (36th, 18:41.47), Quayshun Hawkins (38th, 18:44.92)m, Chandler Hill (57th, 19:21.61) and Julian Scott (58th, 19:23.41) were Blue Devils’ other scoring runners.
Karina Colon (15th, 20:49.56) had a solid effort behind Hill, but the Dreher girls did not have the overall effort to top the boys performance. The girls finished ninth. Ana Suarez (55th, 23:15.35), Melissa Bloom (65th, 24:17.04) and Alanti McGill (71st, 24:58.39) were the other contributors in the lineup.
