Ridge View’s boys cross country team improved to 3-0 with a 18-41 Region 4-4A win over Lancaster on Sept. 16. The RV girls team, meanwhile, picked up its first regular meet, downing the host Bruins 15-50.
David Jennings and Jay Lynch paced the Blazers boys over the short, 2.8-mile course. Jennings had a winning time of 14 minutes, 43 seconds, while Lynch was second at 15:00. Joe Keitt, Nick Gladden and Mimoun Annouri rounded out the scoring portion of the lineup, finishing third, fourth and fifth, respectively.
The Blazers girls accounted for the top nine spots at the finish line. Sierra Henderson was the leader of the pack, finishing first with a time of 20:32. Kiyanna Muhammed, Rebekah Clark, Tamara Smith and Elizabeth Wilson were the other scoring runners.
Ridge View returns to action on Wednesday at Sandhills Research Park against region rival Rock Hill and Fairfield Central.
