Andrew Jackson notes: The Volunteers (3-3, 0-1) jumped on Eau Claire early en route to a 28-7 homecoming win in last week’s Region 4-2A opener. The tone was set on the opening kickoff when AJ’s Trent Flowers ripped off a 72-yard return to the EC 3-yard line. The Vols scored on the first play from scrimmage and had a 7-0 lead 20 seconds into the game …The AJ attack amassed 409 total yards. Quarterback Daniel Pardue hit on 12 of 26 passes for 209 yards and three touchdowns.
Keenan notes: The Raiders (4-2, 0-1) received a rude awakening last week in Pageland against unbeaten, top-ranked Central. The host Eagles dealt Keenan a humbling 49-7 loss.
Series history: The Volunteers and Raiders clash for the first time since 1979. Keenan is 2-0 vs. AJ, winning by margins of 9-7 in 1978 and 13-6 in 1979.
