Football: Ben Lippen at Christ School

Ben Lippen notes: The Falcons improved to 4-4 overall with a 34-7 non-region win over Porter-Gaud last week. Ben Lippen led 14-0 at halftime and broke the game open with a 20-point burst in the third quarter - a move ignited by Joey Carter’s 88-yard touchdown run. Carter closed out the fireworks with scoring passes to Taylor Wilson and Mitchell Deter … Carter is 122-for-203 passing for 1662 yards and 24 TDs, and has 439 yards rushing and five scores on 79 carries. Robert Keen still leads the team in rushing with 502 yards on 73 totes. Deter is the top receiver with 37 catches for 436 yards and four TDs. Xan Mangum has 33 catches for 501 yards and 11 scores, and also sports 307 yards rushing and two TDs on 46 carries. Mangum has also chipped in significantly on defense with 37 tackles and two interceptions … Mic Shoemaker is the anchor on defense with 96 tackles and five sacks. Miles Fisher Fisher has 65 tackles and three sacks. Jimmy Carlin has six sacks. Andre Hennie leads the Falcons with four interceptions.

Chris School notes: The Greenies (4-3) are coming off a 47-8 romp against SouthLake Christian. Quarterback Mo Martin was 3-for-3 passing for 73 yards and one touchdown, and led the team in rushing with 85 yards on eight carries. Chris McLeod had 193 all-purpose yards in the win … Christ School is 1-1 vs. South Carolina foes to date. The Greenies lost 21-14 to Cardinal Newman at home in their season opener, and thumped Southside Christian of Greenville 37-6 at home in Week 3.
