Chapin hosts Greenville Tuesday in the first round of the Class 3A state volleyball playoffs after going 21-4 during the regular season, including a 10-0 run to the Region 4-3A championship.
This team has showed heart and determination down the stretch, and has come together as a team after losing six seniors and four starters from last year,” said Eagles coach Mary Jo Jenny.
“Layla Neal and Sarah Barton are controlling the net. Chelsea Frick has done a great job anchoring the setting duties. Sara Jefferson, Katy Trujillo, and Shelby King are offensive leaders and Sara Rice is leading the defense.”
Neal and Frick pace the Chapin attack. Neal is the closer with 172 kills to date, while setter Frick has 290 assists. Shelby Todd has been solid at the serving line with a 92% success rate.
