Lexington notes: The Wildcats (7-3, 4-1) righted the ship with a 29-22 win vs. Dutch Fork last week. Anthony Carden’s 2-yard scoring run capped a 10-play, 80-yard scoring march that iced the verdict with 6:57 left in the fourth quarter … Dexter Wells, Adrian Wigfall and Shaq Roland were named the Wildcats’ players of the game. Wells had 116 yards rushing on 15 carries. Wigfall had three receptions for 43 yards and one touchdown, ripped off a 57-yard scoring run on his only carry of the game and had 42 return yards on special teams. Roland had eight tackles, one tackle for loss and one interception to earn defensive honors … Carden leads the team is rushing (1216 yards) and scoring (17 TDs, 102 points). Wells and quarterback Tradd Hunter have combined for 1164 yards rushing and 10 TDs. Hunter is 44-for-95 passing for 439 yards and four scores. Wigfall is the top receiver with 18 catches for 246 yards, and has seven total touchdowns on the books … Xavier Salley (53 tackles, 6 pass breakups), Bradley Moore (53 tackles, 6 TFL), Andrew Chandler (52 tackles) and Eric Bennett (10 TFL) are among the leaders on defense.

North Augusta notes: The Yellow Jackets (6-3, 3-2) are coming off a tough 20-14 overtime loss to Richland Northeast, and needs a win to stay in the running for an automatic state playoff berth … Tidy Johnson is the centerpiece of the NA attack. The senior has 1537 yards rushing and 10 TDs on the books. Quarterback Travis Murphy is 60-for-107 passing for 686s yards and four scores. Matt Hazel is the top receiver with 36 catches for 535 yards and five TDs.

Series history: North Augusta has a 19-15 lead in the series that began in 1974, but the Wildcats have been dominant of late – winning 10 of 12 meetings with the Yellow Jackets since 1996. Lexington prevailed 27-26 last season.
