Eau Claire will be on hand for the state cross country meet for the first time in a long while in 2008, thanks to a just-good-enough performance at the Class 2A boys qualifying meet on Saturday at Sandhills Research Park.
The Shamrocks finished 12th in the 16-team field with 322 points, nabbing the last LS invitation to the state finals on the same course on Saturday.
Freshman Jamison Reed was the EC frontrunner, finishing 53rd with a time of 20 minutes, 33.45 seconds. The rest of the Shamrocks’ scoring cast included junior Cody Swanagan, sophomore Adolph Caldwell, junior Louis Woods and senior Andre Moore.
