Keenan's Rouse named CAWS 2A player of year

Keenan senior Bianca Rouse has been named the Class 2A volleyball player of the year by Carolina Association of Women’s Sports (CAWS). Rouse helped the Raiders to win the Upper State championship in 2007 and to advance to the Upper State semifinals in her final season.

The other players of the year are Christina Glover of Wando (4A), Carly Ledbetter of Hilton Head (3A) and Caroline Cann of Landrum (1A).

A total of 13 Midlands players were selected to the various all-state classification teams. Camden had the largest haul in the area with three players on the 3A squad – Melissa Kearse, Ashley Morgan and Kristin Hutton.

Lexington was the only other area team with two all-state picks – Kellie Schmidt and Laura Grace Swindler.
