Ben Lippen’s boys basketball team bounced back from a tough season-opening loss to Wilson Hall to even its record at 1-1 with a 70-34 win on Tuesday at Richard Winn.
Gabe Smith and Taylor Wilson scored 12 points apiece for the Falcons, and Andre Hennie added 11 in support. Wilson went 5-for-6 from the field, while Smith converted 4 of 6 field goal attempts. Smith also led the team with 13 rebounds.
Mitchell Deter had a rough shooting night, going 3-for-18 from the field and finishing with nine points, but the junior star had four assists, two blocked shots and six rebounds.
The Falcons return to action Friday at Wilson Hall against the defending SCISA Class 3A runner-up Barons, who nipped Ben Lippen 57-56 in the season opener for both teams on Nov. 25.
