Motley named outstanding wrestler at Tennessee tournament

Lexington's Hampton Motley was named the outstanding wrestler at the Indian Classic wrestling tournament last weekend in Kingsport, TN. Motley won the 125-pound championship while leading the Wildcats to an impressive third-place finish in a field of 26 teams representing eight states.

The Wildcats rang up 211.5 points, not far off the pace of champion George Washington of West Virginia (231.5) and runner-up Northwest Whitfield of Georgia (215).

In all, Lexington had seven entries place, including individual champions Kraig Crawford (189) and Steven Dorrell (215). Steven Steinbacher took second place at 103.

Otherwise, Steven Licina was 3rd at 112, Scott Tyndale was 8th at 119, Terry Holthausen was 7th at 140, Zach Howerton was 3rd at 152 and Alex Morales was 4th at 160.
