Silver Foxes rule at their own tournament again

Dutch Fork continued the domination of its own Silver Foxes Invitational wrestling tournament last week, winning the team championship for the sixth year in a row. Moreover, a second DF team was good enough to finish fourth in the 12-team field.

Ken Wilson’s team is entered in the Taco Bell Invitational tournament that starts today at Spring Valley.

T.J. Cayruth (215), George Holstead (140), John Brannigan (130), Corey Koon (189) and heavyweight Marshall Williams all secured individual titles while leading the Silver Foxes to a winning tournament team score of 229.5 points. Battery Creek finished seconds with 203 points.

J. Bradley Studemeyer (2nd, 145), A.J. Finley (3rd, 112), Matt Dherckers (3rd, 125), Austin Koon (3rd, 135), Parker Leslie (3rd, 152) and Adam Strother (4th, 171) were the other place finishers for the top Dutch Fork team.

Tanner Wanish (130) and Z. Bregovi (145) won consolation titles and Mark Stanton (125) had a fourth-place finish to lead the pack on the DF “Silver” team that finished with 135 team points.
