Busbee becomes first SCISA champion at Taco Bell mat tournament

A week after being named one of the two outstanding wrestlers at the Cardinal Newman Christmas Classic, Heathwood Hall senior Preston Busbee had another outstanding tournament showing at Spring Valley’s Taco Bell Invitational.

In fact, Busbee became the first SCISA wrestler to win an individual championship at the long-running event.

The Highlanders standout, who is a two-time SCISA individual champion, rolled to the 112-pound title again, pinning Chapin’s Stuart Hope in the Taco Bell 112 title bout. All four of Busbee’s tournament wins came via pins. Three of the falls came in the first minute of action.
