Mid-Carolina went 1-1 and finished in third place at the Screven County boys basketball holiday tournament in Sylvania, Ga.
The Rebels (6-3) dropped a 68-52 decision to Metter (GA) in the tourney opener, but rebounded to beat Bacon County (GA) 59-34 in the consolation final as Krishawn Holley set a single-game school record with nine steals.
Calvin Herbert (15 points, 6 rebounds) and C.J. Edwards (16 points) led M-C in the win vs. Bacon County, while Holley had five points and a game-high 11 rebounds to go along with his record theft total.
Holley had 11 points, nine rebounds and two steals vs. Metter, which is ranked No. 7 in Class 1A in Georgia. Kendrelle Neal had a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards. Edwards and Herbert tallied 11 and 10 points, respectively.
