Chapin finished third in a field of 25 teams at the Taco Bell Invitational wrestling tournament last weekend at Spring Valley. The Eagles closed with 180 team points.
Zach Quansey was the Chapin headliner, winning the 140-pound championship with a win over Gilbert’s Justin Miller in the title bout. Austin Reid (103), Stuart Hope (112) and Ben Monroe (152) were second-place finishers for the Eagles. Nate Polly and Cody Carraway were Chapin’s other place finishers. Polly was third at 125, while Carraway was fourth at 145.
Quansey managed his first tournament win of the season. He was fourth at the Palmetto State Classic and did not compete at the Silver Foxes Invitational.
