Camden matmen ready to rumble again

The Camden wrestling team returns to action on Friday and Saturday at the Chesterfield Ram Rumble.

“We finished 14 out of 32 teams at the Lugoff-Elgin tournament, but we wrestled without three starters. Davis Partin (171) was injured, Robert Joyner (119) has mononucleosis and Eric Robinson (215) was out of town,” said Bulldogs coach Stephen Satusky.

Horus Madrid and Will Long were the top Camden entries at L-E’s Mayplant Credit Union Holiday Classic prior to the Christmas break. Madrid, who stands at 9-1 to date, finished second at 130, suffering his first loss to the season in the title bout to an out-of-state wrestler. Long (10-1) placed third at 140.

Shane Grigsby is also off to a good start, posing an 8-2 records at 145 in December.
