The Region 5-4A basketball campaign resumes on Tuesday with a full slate of four boys-girls doubleheaders.
The Irmo and Lexington boys share first place thanks to 2-0 performances in December. Dutch Fork is the only 2-0 team on the girls side.
Irmo returns to region play Tuesday at North Augusta (1-1), while Lexington hits the road to face Orangeburg-Wilkinson (0-2).
Irmo opened the region season with a 47-34 home win vs. O-W on Dec. 16, and followed with a 59-40 road win at Aiken on Dec. 19. Senior Daniel Huguenin led the Yellow Jackets in scoring in both game with nine and 14 points, respectively. Irmo (11-0 overall) won the championship at the Midas Highlander Classic at Heathwood Hall during the holiday break. Huguenin was named the tournament MVP, and senior Robbie Brunson and sophomore Josh Clinkscales were named to the all-tournament team.
