DF girls still setting the pace in Region 5-4A

Dutch Fork ripped Richland Northeast 56-16 on Friday night to maintain its first-place standing in Region 5-4A girls basketball. Shyanne Oakman paced the Silver Foxes with 16 points, Devin Pearson scored 12 and Alaina Coates deposited 11.

Faye Norris’ team now sports an 8-3 overall record and a 4-0 region mark. DF has a one-game lead over Irmo, which improved to 3-1 with a win at Lexington on Friday night. The Yellow Jackets share second place with Aiken.

Elsewhere, North Augusta pulled off an upset win over Orangeburg-Wilkinson on Friday night to move into a tie with O-W in fourth place at 2-2.
