Lexington expanded its Region 5-4A boys basketball lead to two full games as the conference season nears the midway point, downing second-place North Augusta 61-54 on Friday night at home.
The Wildcats (15-2, 6-0) received 16 points from Justin Mills and 13 from freshman Shaq Roland. The Yellow Jackets fell back to 4-2 in the region standings, but still have sole possession of second place.
Irmo, White Knoll and Aiken were the other conference winners on Friday and all three teams share third place with 3-3 records. White Knoll nipped Orangeburg-Wilkinson 52-50 as Dequan Grooms scored 18 points, back up by Eric White’s 10 points.
The first half of the region campaign concludes on Tuesday night.
