CAJ boys halt two-game region slide

C.A. Johnson halted a two-game Region 4-1A losing streak with a 52-37 win over visiting Blackville-Hilda on Friday. The Green Hornets girls, however, dropped a 54-32 decision to the visiting Hawks in the opener.

Davon Dash, Antonio Brown and D. Jackson shared scoring honors for the CAJ boys (8-8, 4-2) with 11 points apiece.

The Hornets girls fell big despite getting a game-high 17 points from Whitney Green, who is averaging 16.7 points a game in region play. Melvina Pierce’s team now stands at 4-8, 3-3.
