Lexington has a chance to increase its Region 5-4A boys basketball lead to three full games when it travels to face archrival White Knoll tonight in the final game of the first half of the conference campaign.

The Wildcats picked up ground on Tuesday even though they were idle. Aiken’s 62-60 win at North Augusta on Tuesday left both teams at 4-3 in region play, two and a half games behind Lexington.

The Aiken girls also won, leaving both the teams at 4-3 in conference matters, as well.

Justin Mills (offense), Matt Jergenson (defense) and Corey Hendren (sixth man) are the Lexington players of the week. Mills had 16 points and seven rebounds vs. North Augusta. Jergenson has been the Wildcats defensive rock in the middle and is averaging seven rebounds a game. Hendren had a season high 15 points on five 3-pointers vs. Dutch Fork.
