Streaking Fairfield Central defeated Lugoff-Elgin 81-69 on Wednesday to improve to 4-0 in Region 4-3A boys basketball. FC has won eight in a row, and 11th of its last 12 outings. The only stumble during the recent role came against Washington County, Ga. in the Taco Bell Classic.
Marquise Robinson and Kendrick Anderson paced the Griffins (13-3 overall) with 21 and 20 points, respectively. Anderson is averaging 18.0 points in conference play, while Anderson is at 15.3 ppg. Mikel Trapp chipped in 15 points.
Shaq Elm topped L-E with 15 points. The Demons fell to 10-7 overall, 2-2 in the region.
The Griffins are looking to close out the first half of the region season with a sweep Friday at Chapin. The Demons wrap up first-half play Friday at A.C. Flora.
