SCISA 2-3A: Falcon sweep St. Joseph's

Ben Lippen swept visiting St. Joseph’s kin a SCISA Region 2-3A doubleheader on Tuesday.

The Falcons boys (10-9, 3-2 received a huge game from Mitchell Deter, who rang up a season-high 30 points on 11-for-18 shooting from the field. Deter also had time share team honors with four rebounds and come up with two steals. Andre Hennie had a good night, as well, with 17 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals. Zach Burnett chipped in 13 points (6-for-9 shooting from the field), four assists and two steals.

The Falcons had a fine shooting night, going 51% from the field, 16-for-21 at the free-throw line.

The BL girls (6-11, 2-3) nipped St. Joseph’s 44-40. Sarah Yeakel led the Falcons with 12 points.

The Heathwood Hall and Hammond boys both scored non-region wins on Tuesday.

Heathwood (16-5, 4-1) blew away Laurens Academy 63-18. Corey Littlejohn paced the Highlanders with 15 points and nine rebounds. Andrew Hockman tallied 15 points and canned three of his four 3-point attempts. Joseph English had an 11-point night, hitting all five of his shots from the field.

Hammond evened its overall record at 10-10 thanks to a 61-54 win vs. Camden Military. Aaron Walters led the Skyhawks with 16 points, while Cliff Ayers scored 10.
