Spring Valley rolled to its 17th straight victory on Friday, bashing visiting Blythewood 57-33 to improve to 18-1 overall, 5-0 in Region 4-4A. The second-ranked Vikings settle the issue early, jumping on the Bengals 23-8 in the first quarter.
Asia Dozier and Shaquita Walker had big games for the winning Vikings. Dozier tallied 17 points on 7-for-14 shooting from the field, and had five rebounds and four assists. Walker had her finished overall game of the season with 15 points, four assists and six steals.
Otherwise, freshman Xylina McDaniel had eight points, 16 rebounds, two assists and three steals. Brian Robinson chipped in six points, five boards, three assists and two steals. Savonia Bryan contributed eight points and nine rebounds.
Ashleigh Edwards accounted for more than half the Blythewood scoring with 18 points. The Bengals dropped to 10-9, 2-4.

Spring Valley’s boys completed the sweep with a rousing 85-43 win in the nightcap. Ronald Zimmerman paced the Vikings with 21 points, and had solid support from Jamil Jones (17) and Trey Duncan (14).
Zimmerman has been on a roll of late, averaging 25.2 points over the last five games.
Dominique Butler had 14 points for Blythewood, which fell to 5-12, 2-4.
