White Knoll and Lexington will square off in the third round of the Class 4A state wrestling playoffs Monday at Lexington.
The Timberwolves (18-9) stopped Sumter 42-23 on Wednesday to advance to the third round of the playoffs for the second time on program history. Lexington (27-9) advanced to the third round for the third year in a row and the eighth time since the dual-match playoff debuted in 1993, downing Region 7-4A champion Stratford 37-26 in Goose Creek.
White Knoll broke a 12-12 after five bouts to take the lead for good, courtesy of a pin by Cody Shirley ay 119 pounds. The clincher came at 145 on a 10-8 win by Zach Dicus. Shirley, Brandon Proveaux (215), Chris Jeffries (103), Shane Lee (135) and Phillip Austin (171) scored pins for the Timberwolves. Otherwise, Skylar Walker (125) picked up six team points on a forfeit, while Chad Lee and Dicus won by decision.
Pins by Scott Tyndale (119), Hampton Motley (125 and Zach Howerton (152) highlighted the Lexington win. Steven Steinbacher (103), Alex Morales (160), Steven Dorrell (215) and Derrick Edens (285) prevailed by decision and Kraig Crawford accounted for four team points with a major decision.

Lexington topped White Knoll 41-33 in a Region 5-4A clash on Jan. 28.
Sumterl travels to Conway this weekend for the Region 6-4A tournament. Shawn Armstrong (189), Mike Miller (285), Korey Paige (112), Matt Devine (130), Josh Sullivan (152) and Eric Portee (171) were the Gamecocks winners vs. White Knoll.
Paige (22-22), Devine (34-10), Sullivan (41-6), Portee (25-14) and Armstrong (38-2) all went 2-0 in the playoffs.
The Gamecocks lost in the second round for the fifth season in a row, and have never made it to the third round.
