Dreher's girls basketball team improved to 13-6 overall, but more importantly 7-1 in Region 5-3A with a 53-37 win against Brookland-Cayce at Dreher Friday.
The Blue Devils tied in the region title race with Airport.
Emily Newton and Shakeina Smith each had 12 points and Tequila McNeal added 11 for Dreher.
Brookland-Cayce made it interested, though, staying within striking distance until late in the fourth quarter.

"The things that we were doing well in the first quarter, we didn't do in the second," Dreher coach Teresa Jones said.
That's because when Dreher pressed defensively in the second quarter, Brookland-Cayce was able to beat it for easy baskets.
"Sometimes it was three on one and we were lackadaisical getting back," Jones said.
Asia Benn led Brookland-Cayce with 18 points.
Dreher plays at Airport Tuesday.
