Keenan, Central keep pace in 4-2A boys race

Keenan and Central kept pace at the top of the Region 4-2A boys basketball standings on Tuesday.

Keenan (15-8, 8-1) pummeled Columbia 74-52 as Bradley Smith fired in 22 points and Ryan Norris added 18. Jacob Green and Eric Washington provided double-digit support with 11 and 10 points, respectively. The Raiders close out the regular season Thursday at Eau Claire. The loss officially eliminated the Capitals from the state playoff hunt.

Central (16-5, 8-1) prevailed 66-55 against Andrew Jackson. The Eagles host Columbia Thursday in Pageland.

If the Raiders and Eagles win on Thursday and finish in a dead heat, it will require a third meeting on Friday to determine the region’s No. 1 state playoff seed.
