SV girls close regular season with 21 wins in a row

Spring Valley put the finishing touch on a perfect 10-0 Region 4-4A girls basketball campaign on Friday, scoring a 61-27 rout of visiting Lancaster. It was the 21st consecutive win for the second-ranked Vikings who open the state playoffs at home on Feb. 17.

Asia Dozier led SV with 18 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals. The freshman standout enjoyed a torrid shooting night, going 7-for-10 from the field and 2-for-3 at the free-throw line. Briana Robinson finished with eight points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals.

The Vikings carry a 22-1 record into the state playoffs.

Blythewood defeated Ridge View on Friday, but the Blazers did not lose seeding ground to the Bengals. Both teams have road dates in the first round of the playoffs.
