Keenan boys win, Columbia girls fall in 4-2A tie breakers

Keenan secured the No. 1 state playoff seed in Region 4-4A on Friday, downing co-champion Central 65-59 in a tie-breaking game at North Central. In the opener, Lee Central edged Columbia 44-41 to earn the No. 2 girls seed and a home date in the first round.

The Raiders (17-8) received big production from Ryan Norris and Bradley Smith, who combined for 43 points. Norris tossed in a game-high 25 points, and Smith rang up 18. Kegan Funderburk led the Eagles with 18 points.

Keenan enters the Class 2A state playoffs on a roll. The Raiders have won six in a row and 10 of their last 11 since losing a weekend series in Savannah at the end of the Christmas holiday break. Keenan hosts Batesburg-Leesville in first-round play on Wednesday.

Whitley Smith and Ariel Boyle led Lee Central (14-10) to the tight win over Columbia. Jasmine Harris scored a game-high 20 points for the Capitals (8-14), who saw their four-game winning streak come to an end.

Lee Central hosts Mid-Carolina in first-round action on Monday, while Columbia travels to face Saluda.
