White Knoll pitchers Shelley Jeffcoat and Kaylin White combined for 10 innings of one-hit work on Tuesday as the Timberwolves swept Richland Northeast in a Region 4-4A softball doubleheader.
Jeffcoat tossed a five-inning perfect game in the opener with 11 strikeouts. White served up just one hit in the nightcap. Jeffcoat upper her record to 8-0 and lower her ERA to 0.24. White is now 3-1 with a 1.10 ERA.
White Knoll had plenty of offensive highlights, even though Codee Yeskee was kept out of the loineup again. Emily Kirby went 5-for-6 in the twinbill with seven RBIs. She had three hits, two of them doubles, with five RBIs in the opener, and slugged a home run in the nightcap. Sara Eisenhower went 3-for-4 with five runs and five RBIs in the first game, and added two hits and three RBIs in the second. Kali Bishop was 4-for-6 with three RBIs in the doubleheader, and Brittney Williamson was 5-for-9 and scored eight runs, crossing the dish five times in the opener.
White Knoll (11-2 overall, 7-0 in the region) has a big game on tap Friday at defending region champion North Augusta. The Timberwolves topped the Yellow Jackets 6-2 in the first meeting of the teams on March 10. Yeskee cracked a home runs and scored two runs, while Jeffcoat tossed a six-hitter with seven strikeouts.
