Expanded Sandlapper baseball tournament starts Saturday

The expanded, new-look Sandlapper spring break baseball tournament starts Saturday at four hosts sites.

The tournament, which now features 16 teams in a Class 4A/3A division and eight teams in a Class 2A/1A division, has bracket games on tap Saturday, Monday and Tuesday at Brookland-Cayce, Airport, Camden and Gilbert with placement games at Airport and B-C on Wednesday. An overall championship game is set for Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Brookland-Cayce.

Brookland-Cayce

Saturday - Dutch Fork vs. Dreher, 1 p.m.; Mauldin vs. South Aiken, 3:30 p.m.; Hopewell (NC) vs. Spartanburg, 6 p.m.; Carrick (Pa.) vs. Brookland-Cayce, 8 p.m..
