Lewis scores five in B-C's wild Palmetto Cup win

Brookland-Cayce junior Taylor Lewis took care of all the scoring in the Bearcats wild, 5-4 win over Walhalla in the first round of the Palmetto Cup on Wednesday.

Lewis’ five-goal burst upped is team-leading total to 16, and he has found the back of the net nine times over the last three B-C matches. He had a hat trick in a 6-0 Region 5-3A win last week over Swansea.

The Bearcats, ranked No. 9 in Class 3A, are 8-2-2 overall, 4-1 in region play. B-C has won five in a row since dropping a tough 1-0 decision to second-ranked, region-leading South Aiken on March 19.

B-C, which started the season with a young, rebuilding squad, is 8-1 after starting the season with a 0-1-2 showing at the Carolina Classic preseason tournament in Mt. Pleasant.
