White Knoll squares off against Blythewood in the Forest Acres Classic championship game tonight at 8 p.m. It is the rematch of the preseason RBI tournament championship bout won by White Knoll, 8-5, in early March.
White Knoll finished pool play at 3-0 with an 18-6 rout of Blue Ridge on Thursday. Josh Sealey and Matt Tanner were the big guns in the Timberwolves’ 12-attack attack. Sealey went 3-for-5 with a home run and five RBIs, while Tanner was 2-for-4 with a home run, three runs scored and four RBIs. Otherwise, Austin Dunn had two hits and two RBIs, Robbie Street and Corey Holmes scored three runs apiece and Chris Andrews and A.J. Bolin both had two RBIs. Starting pitcher Taylor Britain picked up the mound decision.
Blythewood, 2-1 in pool play, earned the title shot by downing Spring Valley 8-3 on Thursday. Daniel Andreu belted a three-run homer in the first inning, scoring Brandon Burris and Grayson Greiner. After Spring Valley pulled within 3-2 in the top of the third inning, Greiner blasted his fifth round-tripper of the season, a two-run blast to center field, to restore the Bengals three-run cushion. Woody Paschal, who took over for starter Taylor Eubanks in the third, emerged with his first varsity win on the hill. Paschal allowed three hits and no earned runs with two strikeouts in his five-inning stint.
