Dutch Fork, plagued by injuries all season, finished with a 12-8 boys soccer record, a third-place finish in Region 5-4A and a berth in the state playoffs.
“We had a pretty good season, however, we were out with a lot of injuries throughout the year,” said coach Todd Woodward. “We had a lot of young players step up this year when our starters went out hurt. We played with a very young team this year.”
John Robert Taylor, Ryan Whitener and Michael Klawer were the Silver Foxes all-region players.
Whitener, Adam McJunkin, Bobby McNaughton, Adam Waters, Nigel Wigfall and Miles Kendrick are the departing senior starters. Taylor, Klawer Isaiah Etheridge, John Birnie and Brandon Baize are expected to be the veteran leaders next season.
“With the big-game experience our younger players gained this year, they should be ready to step right in next season and contribute,” said Woodward. “Our top three goal scorers return along with all defensive players. If everyone stays healthy we could make a run in the playoffs.”
