Ridge View notes: The Blazers have won two in a row since getting off to an 0-2 start. Last week, RV reached the .500 mark with a 37-34 win over district rival Richland Northeast … The Blazers’ winning margin came on a 23-yard field goal by Larry August with seven seconds to go … Quarterback Jalen Perry had a big game, completing 14 of 25 throws for 257 yards and three touchdowns. Receiver Naquan Fleming continued his big-play season with nine catches for 189 yards and three TDs. Fleming has 25 receptions and six scoring catches to date, and is averaging 21.7 yards per catch. Perry is 46-for-95 passing for 745 yards and seven scores … The Blazers defense recorded five sacks in the game. Marcus Lylerly had two sacks and a team high 13 tackles. Antoine Park had two sacks and seven tackles. Lylerly leads the team with 55 tackles for the season, and is credited with 3.5 TFL and three sacks. Brandon Ford (48) and Parker (41) are next on the RV hit list. Parker’s total also includes seven sacks and four TFL.

Fairfield Central notes: The Griffins also evened their record at 2-2 last week, whipping up on Grovetown, GA, 50-0 … Joseph Morgan and Greg Gadsden both ran for more than 100 yards in the rout. Morgan finished with 100 yards even and one touchdown on 11 carries, while Gadsden rang up 110 yards and one TD on 10 totes. Danny Miller was 8-for-9 passing for 114 yards and one score … Morgan raised his season rushing total to 333 yards on 36 attempts. Gadsden has 218 yards on 33 carries … Nahjawan McKinstry, the regular starting quarterback, is 25-for-44 for 413 yards and six TDs. Chris Alston (10-224-2) and Paul Holmes (8-96-3) are the top receivers … Darius Hamlett and Kerry Dunlap have made a lot of plays on defense. Hamlett has 18 tackles, 2.5 sacks and one TFL. Dunlap has four TFL, two sacks and three quarterback hurries.

Series history: The Griffins whipped up on the Blazers 42-14, extending their series lead to 5-0. In fact, none of the games have been close. FC’s averaging winning margin in the series is 38 points.
